Francium is considered as the most unstable natural occurring element. Several scientists unsuccessfully claimed the discovery, but finally in the year 1939 Maguerite Perey was able to provide evidence and named it after her homeland France. The radioactivity is two million times higher than plutonium. Therefore it is impossible to produce visible amounts of it, the sample woud immediately evaporate because of the heat generated by its own radioactivity.
Just like all alkali metals rubidium reacts vigorously with water. It turns flames into deep red – popular with fireworks. Besides that it’s mostly used for scientific purposes.
Ruby the monster is a real chatterbox. If you meet her, she rambles on with no mercy. She loves everything that’s red: Poppy flowers, lipstick, sunsets and of course red fire works.
Sodium is quite agressive. It reacts vigorously with water. Only if bonded with chlorine it becomes the harmless table salt. Street lamps that glow yellowish-orange usually contain sodium vapor.
Natrio the monster is a kind of vegetarian predator. It can run very fast and use its trunk like a catapult.
Lithium is the lightest metal. It is so light, it would float on water – if only it wouldn’t react so heavily with it. But Lithium can do much more: It works as a medicine against depression and can be found in many batteries.
Lithi the monster is a light-footed little fella, always playful and in a good mood. With its long thin legs it looks like a water strider.
Caesium is a Metal which can combust spontaneously with air. It is used for atomic clocks.
Never call Caesius fat, or you’re in trouble. It is actually quite athletic: It can hit a traffic light with a tomato from half a mile, making it turn to red. Also it is obsessed with the clock: It asks everyone what time it is. Who can’t answer quickly enough, will get pelted with whatever is lying around.
Potassium is an ambivalent element: highly reactive on the one hand – it explodes on contact with water – on the other hand every living being needs it for survival.
Kali the monster is a manic creature. Quarrelsome and vengeful it finds a fly in every ointment and can drive othe monsters up the wall. But whoever is in real need can count on her.
